or is it possible they can randomly update?

Only when you log onto live. Disable the "auto-login" and the "auto-update" gamesave in the dashboard settings. Everytime you log on, it will ask you if you want to update. Unless you connect to live someway yourself, they will not detect the chip.

i never saw an auto update but i did do the auto login disable.
where is the auto update disable at?is it in the orig bios or the evoX bios?

auto-updater i think is the real name. It is a gamesave, so should be with the other gamesaves. If you have that there, then when you log on xbox live, it will automatically start updaiting instead of asking first. Every update brings this save back too btw. Doesn't really do much, but I would rather have them ask me instead of going ahead and doing it.
