Can anyone explain (bar opening up the XBox) how you can find which mod chip you have in the machine. I friend took the machine away and got it mod'd but he didnt ask which type. I do have Evox running but having problems with new games backing them up. I heard that new BioS can get around this problem or using Craxation but I cant seem the find that either anywhere.

Cheers

you have to open it up. Then compare it to whichever chips you can find online.

you can find isocraxtion here:
http://www.craxtion.com/download.html
this will help get around the media check on new games which is what you would be experiencing problems with. The latest bios would help with that too but is not necessary if you use isocraxtion as this program will patch all the xbes for you.

the chip really doesnt matter
as the bios does more
goto evox->settings>bios->kernel
and tell us what it says under kernel

yah, as said above. I actually just wanted to see if your chip was very old, as ther is no reason I can think of to not have updated bios unless the chip was not reflashable. Especially since you just got it modded rescently.

OK I have tried using the latest Craxation V4 and still the game Galleon will not work.

Kernel Version is 1.00.5101.01

Using nero the burn the game at 1 speed as I have always done on the other games. Just does not seem to recognise that the CD is in there :(

does not seem to recognise that the CD is in there :(That might be the problem. most xbox's don't read cd's.

some xboxes dont read cd-rs, and some dont read cd-rw. if you burned a game onto a cd-r and it didnt work, try using a cd-rw and vice-versa.
