I installed virtua fighter 4: evolution with the hdloader and got around 1000+ read errors, the installation was sucessful after 3 hours or so. i ran the game and it seemed perfect to me. Does the read errors have to do anything with the quality of the game that was installed? thanks.

That seems like a lot of trouble for one install. What shape was the original game in to begin with? Have you attempted other installs with the same probs?

the disk wasnt that scratched. but even with 1000+ read errors the game seem fine when loaded with the hdloader. my question is will the quality be 100% there... or will it freeze at some points or skip during FMVs (cut scenes)

Ah!!! Ok, I was thinking maybe the original might have been scratched thus causing the errors. well then just try it out and see if you can play it then. If your install was sucessfull then it should be ok. You mentioned it wasnt THAT scratched....Any scratches at all can be read as data and cause problems. You may be ok.
If it does skip or fail to work properly, try using an electric car buffer with a dab of car polish to resurface the disk, or tooth paste. If you dont have an electric car buffer, you can just use a cotton t-shirt. It will take alot of rubbing doing it by hand but eventually you will rub out the scratches. Then just re-install it again and see if that helps...as I said though, you may be ok as it is now... ;)
Depends what the errors were. Data errors are usually split into 3 catagories of seriousness going from unimportant to critical. Would be nice to see that on next version of hdloader (if there is a next one!)
If the errors are non critical then it could be that you'll never notice any problems with the game itself.
Alternatively there might be a re-read in hdloader so that maybe the first time it read the sector there were errors but on reading the sector again there weren't any or sumfing similar.
But if the game disc is unscratched then it does sound like yr laser is dirty or on the way out strugglin to read discs like that!
