i have star wars knights of the old republic (updated to v 1.03), and im trying to get any of the 3 no-cd patches ive dowloaded to work, to no avail. ive tried the 2 on gamecopyworld, and the 1 on megagames, and every time i run the "launcher.exe" or any of the 3 new "swkotor.exe" files, i get a "star wars knights of the old republic has encountered an error and needs to close." when i click on details, it says the offending file is swkotor.exe. the weird thing is, yesterday i got the game to run once by using the "#1" patch on gamecopyworld and running the launcher.exe file. i have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, updating, then replacing the kotor.exe with all 3 of the patch files i have, and i get the same error. any thoughts?

I also get the same error after the short clips play of lucas arts, ect. As soon as the loading screen appears the game stops and I get the same message

I recently started replaying the game with the 1.03 update and I've had no problem with the crack over at gamecopyworld.

I can't really help you except in telling you that it works for me.

Good luck though.

thats a question you could have answered yourself... suggestion : try one, if it works, stick with it, if it doesnt, try the other one... suggestion 2: stop being lazy...

If there's a great difference, at least a few days, between the release times then the later one is most probably a so called "proper" release, fixing problems noticed in the earlier one, so try that one first.

The Fixed EXE #2 is FAKE!

It's the Fairlight v1.03 crack with Fairlights text in the crack at offset 0AC0 replaced, the rest of the EXE is identical!

Should be removed from GCW!

I recently pirated SW:KOTOR and I'm running a Windows Vista Home Edition laptop, this computer is MORE than capable to run this game.

I installed it fine and whatnot, mounted fine, installed fine.

I patched the game to v1.03 and I replaced the swkotor.exe with the one I downloaded, off gameworld or whatever that site is called.

I run the file under Windows XP Compatibility and I run it as an administrator, after it goes the screen goes black and just sits there and I have to close it and it doesn't get to an introduction or Bioware screen or anything..

Just wondering if anybody had any suggestions to fix it up for me, I'd REALLY appreciate it.

You can cry even harder later on. You will understand why, if you will read the forum rules. Cya in couple of months, years...

First of all, Tippe, go hate somewhere else. Nobody wants to hear your negative criticism. Sometimes browser downloads fail and you only get part of the file. It happened to me, so..honestly just re-download? I'm sure they have an image file type no-cd lying around as well if you look hard enough. I know they have it for Jedi Academy.
- Hope this Helps.

I hope that someday I will see a pack that will have both KOTOR games + all the updates/addon that were released. Of course the retailer should be GOG.com.

1. Find out who you're talking to.
2. Learn to read.

Unless you're just a bot, that is...
