Cheat Code help please?

Just joined this forum, so if I hope you bear with me for a while.
New to the gaming scene and I need a little help. I have two new games that I would like to enable the cheat codes to, and I don't know how to do it. The Games are Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. I have downloaded the Cheat Codes from Megagames, printed them out, and I am stuck where it tells me to 'Create a shortcut and edit the properties of it and add this after all the other stuff: "+setmonkeyty 0 +set sv_cheats 1" I am refering to Call of Duty here. Could someone explain 'simply' what this means I have to do? I can open the console in the game ok, but I think I need to do this shortcut bit. If I type in the console 'give health' it says its an incorrect command.
Medal of Honor cheat code says 'Start the game with the [folder path ] \mohaa.exe' +set ui_console 1 +set cheats 1 +set thereismonkey 1 command. What is that all about?
Start a game and press ~ to display the consol window. I cannot open the console window in this game when I press ~.
Ok! I know you are all laughing, but stick my dummy back in my mouth and make me a happy bunny again. Help please? ( The Germans keep killing me!!!)

first of all this is the wrong forum but you new right?

create a shurtcut on your desktop

go to properties ->start in:

after the last word press space(before the ") and type + whatever.there is a chance to show that it's not possible.try without space etc.that's it.were the **** is dos when you need it uh?

When I do as you say, I get an error message 'Problem with Shortcut' It says "The folder 'C:\PROGR~1\\CALLOF~1 +setmonkeytoy 0 +set sv_cheats 1" specified in the Start In Box is not valid. Make sure the folder exists and the path is correct" What am I doing wrong? I have tried your suggestion with the space after the 1. It made no difference.

line MUST read like this:

"blablabla\CODSP.EXE" +cheat settings

the last quotation mark has to be after codsp.exe !

Thanks Eagle for your replies, the picture has helped. Luci said put the modification in the Start in box, he should have said the Target in box. I get no error now when I put the modification in the Target Box. But....... I am still in trouble and would appreciate some more help with the same problem. I still cannot enable the cheats. When I open the console, and type in 'god' the next line says "Cheats are not enabled on this server'. According to the 'Cheat sheet' I have, it says that if 'sv_cheats are read only' then type in this message "setrandom sv_cheats 1" In desperation I have typed that message and I get the next line saying "Unknown CMD setrandom". Can you help please?

There's several things you need to add to the target line. Go to Gamefaqs cheat area to see what they are.

Thanks George_K for that information, I was putting the incorrect entry into the Target Box. The Game Site you recommended gave me the correct entry and now I can enable the cheat codes. Thanks also to Eagle for his help in going to the trouble of sending a shot of the correct entry box. Thank you also Luci for your help. It may help someone else who has been reading these posts if I gave you the correct entry that solved the problem for me. It was:
''C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDSP.exe'' +set thereisacow 1337 +set developer 1 +set sv_cheats 1 +set monkeytoy 0
