View Full Version : DJ2.0 SETTINGS I USE FOR SELFBOOTING DC GAMES

i am using a yamaha 8424ez ide drive with windows 98 (se i think)

check these boxes

ignore read errors
raw read/ write
edc/ecc

i turn off burnproof
set max image size to 80 min.

set recording speed slidebar to copy to a temp image first and then burn.

this works for almost all self booting games that i have done.

self booting dc games that gave me problems

samba de amigo usa self boot
plasma sword usa self boot

some games take a little longer to read. with these settings when you get illegal field or no seek errors, it will continue to read, and should burn a working dc game.

some games have no seek errors when reading, i have a feeling that these are the games with the 300 sector problems that some people are mentioning.

when getting no seek errors and you see DJ added some dummy blocks, do not worry. so far i have not had problems when getting these errors with these settings.

now i hope people will stop asking questions on how to set the DJ2.0 settings. but by the next day, some moron will be asking it again.

i hope this helps people.

can we use these settings in DJ 3.0 or does it have to be 2.0?

Your are great help, i think i'm close now but:

you are talking about the edc/ecc setting to turn off. Sorry but i cant find it. Where can I find it. I burned whout this setting and the cd contains then onlu a audio track.

My question : where can I find the edc/ecc setting and there are standard some settings made, should I turn thes off and only the setting on you mentioned.

also tried cdi2nero but after writer my cd-rom player cant find any files on the disk ( empty ), has some had these problems to and do you have a sollution?

Thanks John

it was either in your default settings or the advanced options menu.

i only use the settings that i have stated in this post that i set up in my defaults settings menu. so whenever i start up DJ. the settings are automatically set to what i have stated in this post.

everything else that you can set up in the default settings is not checked. i only checked the ones i mentioned in this post.

i did exactly what u got in here. i tried it on test drive le mans and i get many errors saying edc/ecc inconsistency while it's caching the image from cd....however dj keeps going...so i didnt worry. BUT, when dj tried to put the image to cd, i get the error illegal block parameter and spits out the cd.

used dj2 with mitsumi 4804te

when i used dj3...no errors came out and everything went fine UNTILL i put it on my dc. DC did not read it.

im so pissed...i had 7 coasters so far...no success yet

the mitsumi drive will give you lots of problems from what i have read in this and other forums.

this is your best bet

1) cdirip or
2) cdi2nero and burn with nero or
3) get a new burner

if anyone else has a better suggestion, please post it. i am not an expert at this.
