Hi all again,

I have posted previously about this problem but am having no luck. I have a v4 with a dms3 chip in it but previously had a neo4. I was wonder if there was anyone out there that had installed a neo4 in a v4 and had to remove a resistor for the chip to work. I believe the neo4 bypassed the original bios hence having to remove the resistor but now, with the dms3, need one again as my screen rolls when I try to play dvd movies. Can anyone tell me exactly what resistor this is, ie: the value of the resistor, colour, etc (sorry lads, I not very techincal when it comes to those type of things).

I have emailed shadowknyght a couple of weeks ago but have had no response so I need to know where I can get one. Is the one on www.psxrepairs.com the correct one?

Cheers

Dont you think it could be very much easier to just sell your old ps2 to buy a new one and install the DMS chip in that?

It might be easier but I have already spent the money on it so to spend a little more & fix it completely would be better then paying almost $500 for a new machine & to reinstall the chip. The part should only be around $20 at the most surely!!!!

Are they special resistors in the ps2 or can they be purchased at an electronics supplier?? If so I need to know the value of the part, etc.

Cheers
