DAMM!!!! these pops ups i cant get rid of them :mad: even my spyhunter is powerless to them now i never had this problem b4 i cant get them off my pc i ran spy hunter it gets rid of a few things but not these 3 annyoing pops ups they keep comeing back. Any one here know of a good up to date prog for getting rid of pops ups ?

yeh pop up generators are a bitch it wont get rid of it compleatley but if you just dont want to see um you could put up a pop up blocker

i had spybot at one time didnt like it but i will give it a shot again i may just have to go with a pop up blocker as bad as i h8 to cause it will prob be in my tool bar at all times :(

I use a program called PopUpCop. It actually loads with in IE so you don’t have a separate program running all the time, and its totally configurable with in IE.

I had a similar problem, what i did was install spybot, then reboot in safe mode (stops the pesky criters from starting!)

Leave spybot to scan and destoy then all was good again :D

oh is this a spyware thing?! Well yeah use spybot S&D, useing it in safemode liek jay said works everytime as well.

for website popup blocking i recommend the google toolbar :D
small, does it job very good and using google is sooo simple and fast :D

A note : a popup blocker like google's toolbar will only block popups coming from websites, it will not block popups coming from spyware. If you keep getting popups, install Spybot S&D and run it to get rid of the spyware that's causing them.

i will try this method then :) now if i could get xp into safe mode i always have probs figering out how to start safe mode on xp sence it dont have the opition.

No you don’t start XP in safe mode. You start spybot S&D in safe mode. You see if there are app.'s running that spybot S&D cant remove because they are active it will ask you to boot spybot S&D after a reboot, then what it does is spybot S&D is the first app to initiate, giving spybot S&D time to find any problems before any other app in launched, it will then scan and eliminate any problems.

Try these; Try everything once I say lol.

12ghosts popup killer - have to be the best i've seen.

Adaware6 - the bee's knee's of spyware detection.

Failing that, track down the popup makers and kill em' all lol.

ALSO; just a guess, but you might be copping the msn popup exploit from within ya windows. This is not the msn - chat, its the message service that is used between clients and workstations in a network. This exploit is being used world wide to annoy the sh*t outa people.

A quick guide to turn it off;

First click on your Computer Management icon
(control panel/administrative tools/computer management)
Then click Service and Applications
Then Services
Scroll down untill you see Messenger, right click and select properties
Press STOP
Startup type - Select Disabled
No reboot rquired. (don't turn anything else in there off! lol)

you have to know whats supose to be runing so it would take quite a bit of knowhow but with you could hit ctrl+Alt+delete look under the Processes Tab check for whats not supose to be there serch for there locations use the End Process button to shut it down and then Delete it
Of course if you erace one that is sopose to be there you could totally F*** up your OS so you probubley would not want to do this untell its last resort
