View Full Version : Starting today......
I'm gonna join the GC scene and backup my current games.
When I first checked out the scene i was disappointed with the results everyone was having (bad FMV skipping, music skipping etc.
Has this changed? I'm only really interested in backing up my games if they play reasonable well!
Okeyyyy,
I've just created myself an image of Metal Gear : twin snakes and i've used the latest cubesoft phoenix loader but i'm slightly disappointed with the result :(
Fair enough the game plays ok if you turn the sound down but is there any news on if there's a way of streaming it better?

Good luck I streming is not perfec on all games but its usually pretty good with the latest loaders IM pretty happy with it
i've found my backup of metal gear solid : twin snakes. is pretty awful using any of the loaders (Including the one specifically made for it) It's just playable.
Did a backup of Resident Evil 1. THe game plays ok but the FMV is unwatchable imo.
My overall idea was to pack away the GC games away from nasty little hands  but i'm not too sure if to do so now.
So has there been any development regarding the speed of transfer?

there are experimental loaders that will change the GC chip setting to 100.0mlps but they dont work its to much for the gamecube
:( So is it unlikely we'l ever get a perfect stream?

you cant change your gamecube speed to 100mbit. the most the gamecube could handle is 28mbits. as for Metal Gear Solid, theres the MGS Loader which happens to play MGS fine. only a few screens turn green every now and then and a couple of slowdowns once in a while but other than that, it plays fine with that loader.
I'm using the MGS loader and it plays fine, but the music isn't so good. :(

I hve not tryed this myself but some say there is a way to downsample the auio so it will play smother dont ask me how thought just something I herd about
Don't get me wrong though, i'm pretty impressed at the GC scene at the moment.
I just wish there was a way I could store my GC games away and play via the PC but also not lose out on the quality. Music is a key part of some games :(
Fingers crossed within time!
