View Full Version : Networking Xbox with FlashFXP
Okay heres my problem, I'm trying to network my xbox to my pc, so I can delete useless things, such as mp3s about 10,000 of them to be exact.
Heres my problem -
When I try to connect with FlashFXP, I get Connection Failed. (No Route to Host)
help?
Ah, I'll figure it out, tomorrow myself, too lazy. today blah.

I guess this is a good time for me to admit I’m a completely new to networking, my P4 has a built in NIC that I’ve never used before until I attempted to connect with an Xbox. I have both XP and Win98SE, with XP I fouind a place for the IP and subnet #’s, 98SE I can’t seen to find anything close to these settings for my NIC. Same as in FlashFXP, quick connect or what, I don’t even know where to begin! I’m Completely lost!! Evox boots and show a connection. Can anyone link me to a LAN for dummies page or something?
I'm not sure if I'm breaking the rules or not ... if I am edit my post ...

P.S -
MAKE SURE YOU'RE USING A CROSSOVER CABLE!

I know I have a crossover cable because I looked at the colored wires in the tip and they cross.
I read everything over and over again, I set my IP #’s and all that in the networking setup for my NICF chipset, FlashFXP just gives me an hourglass for a few seconds and says failed to connect.
I gave up and installed Evox using XboXplorer which seemed to work fine. I added a couple things in the e:apps folder and they show up in Evox launch menu, BUT they all show up twice??
Apps in the launch menu look like this:
BoXplorer
BoXplorer
DVD-X2
DVD-X2
Xbox Media Player
Xbox Media Player
I don’t even know where it got the titles from because that’s not even what I named the folders!
OK, the AutoAddItem "e:\apps\" command was in the INI twice, that's probably why. It’s Evox Build3921
Make sure you aren't using an ethernet cable, ...
Crossover and Ethernet cables look exactly alike.

I cleaned up my networking setup and re-installed the realtek NIC drivers and it connects to the xbox now. I can transfer from the C and E drives but the DVD Rom drive D shows either no files or the same files as drive C??
If I'm not wrong, I dunno (to lazy to check) ... isn't D the dvd drive?

Yes D's the DVD Rom and I want to back up DVD files to my PC hard drive but because the files on drive D do not show up in flashFXP I have to use boxplorer to copy to E first then FTP!!

Before making comments like this, you may want to actually learn how to spell in this language. It'll save you some face.
