I have tried playing backups from several different sources, the games play fine, but get hung up in specific areas during the fmv's. The FMVs however work perfectly on all of my friends older systems. I have a newer black sports edition dc. any idea what the problem is here. The system plays the originals flawlessly. Did sega change something with newer systems or is this problem specific to mine?
Thanks

let me know if you find out anything more. or find a possible fix. I was told that a mod chip would help, but I dont see how it would. Ive also heard of turning up the laser intensity, could this be a cause? Anyone else encounter this problem?
the problem is your laser is weak you need to turn up your laser
look at dccopyworld main page
look for cdrw modification
there is nothing different between old dc and new dc except age
only new dc coming out in december will have cd-r modifications so you can not play backups

Can someone let me know how to get at and turn pot meter for cd-rw mod. I can see a pot after flipping open the gd-rom, right above where the ribbon connects to the laser, has locktite around base. Is this the correct pot?
