Hi .
I am using a program to make slide shows that run as .exe files which i distribute to my clients as i am a photographer.

is there any protection i can put on the disc to stop the .exe file in being copied.

thanks

not really, as the data will still be rippable, and the protection will be cracked.. expecially considering that you're displaying graphics, whats to stop someone doing a screen grab.. protection would be pointless in your case i think

the .exe file runs with music and the jpg's are not accessible, frame grabs would be very difficult as the images are only on screen for 3-4 secs.
the type of customers i am dealing with would just try and do a 1-1 copy disc and not do a simple thing like look in explorer to copy just that file.

so really i need a protection that would stop a 1-1 copy.

i hope all that makes sense.

not if you hook the window message handler ,very very simple to rip the gfx out then, stopping a 1:1 copy i guess would require professional prot such as securom etc.. which (1) is probably our of your price range and (2) can be copied/emulated
