Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question, but I know there is a lot of general knowledge here, and I am hoping someone can help.

Recently I keep getting the following popup when I access certain web sites.

"Do you want to install Macromedia Flash Player 7?"

The popup goes on to explain that I need this Macromedia Flash Player to access the web site. I always click NO and the web site works OK anyway.

It appears the Macromedia Flash Player is from VeriSign

Is this Macromedia related to the Macromedia media protection on DVDs and VCR tapes? Does anyone know how to purge the computer of the source of this popup?

Thanks.

hey... just click yes! micromedia flash is harmless... it makes something called flash-movies work on the pages... on many pages you do need flash... but maybe you have v6 and most of them work anyway...

well well... click YES next time... :)

you can click yes, its the FLASH-rendering-stuff from the company called macromedia. this has nothing to do with any copy-protection.

but its ****n annoying that you cant tell IE 'no, I NEVER WANT THIS STUFF' and its keeps on asking all the time...

I keep v6.. v7 seemes to be not too compatable with some webpages, like homestarruner.com. Was a bytch to find and reinstall 6 after I upgraded to 7.

Yep you can just click yes or you can go to www.macromedia.com and download from there.
