I put a small temporary hard disk in my xbox to test an installation and once I had it sorted I removed it and installed a large replacement drive. I have tried reading the smaller hard disk on my PC but the PC won't boot with it attached? I tried another small hard disk and the same thing happens. The bios sees it and it's jumpered correctly. What's going on and can I use the disks again on the PC?

Its the way the XBox has formatted the drive. A PC can not read it.

Wow, so once it's been in an xbox that's it? I had hoped to use it again. I can't even access it with Partition Magic boot disks. Ah well, thanks.

I think you can reformat it using the xbox then you can use it in the pc. Im considering doing that myself in the near future.

Ya you can use it in your PC.
I'm not really sure how, my guess is you would have to boot up in DOS and FDisk it than format it back to Fat32 than your PC will read it.

Solved the problem. The drive was locked. Unlocked it in the xbox and fdisked in the PC straight away.
