Yamaha 16X10X40X Burner

This is the fastest newest burner out. I've been hearing Yamaha burners and Plextors are the best for burning dc games with no problems. Does any1 know how the new Yamaha is? I'm thinking about getting one. There is some on pricewatch.com for $240.

i can't speak for the 16x...but i know the 8x works great....even if you did get the 16x you wouldn't be able to write too well with it...your hard drive would have to be ultra dma or scsi to shoot the info fast enough....

Yamaha are really good recorders (and there fast) I can get most games to copy at 8x without too much problems (have got UDMA 66 harddrive though!!!)

Like Papa said they might burn at 16x spped but they might not, however if you cant wait for an extra 5'ish minutes per copy (thats at 8x) then you are asking too much - or your a 'market seller' and there the ones that give everybody else a bad name....

Ive got a Plextor 12x10x32A and it is brilliant!! It can do everything and it has burnproof so when writing at top speed you never get a buffer underun. I recommend it. I dont think a drive above 12x is nessercery. 12x full cd in 5mins.
