well i've been searching and searching for some info on the a06 drive and i cant seem to find my answer. How does this drive work as a reader/writer for the copy protections out there? I hear you need a drive that can do efm and also raw dao 98 to make true 1:1 backups. Can this drive do this? And since im using a laptop the drive that came with the comp is rather crap so i will have to use my pioneer a06 as a reader for the time being...is it gonna work well using clone cd or whichever other program to make 1:1 backups? I just wanna make sure before i start burner away, to keep the coasters to a minimum lol. So can anyone tell me if this burner can get past the latest safedisc/securerom protections? 'preciate ur help...

i bought one lately.

safedisc 2:
copied every version (up to 3.10.020) with EFM perfectly. copy works everytime.

securom new:
dpm dumping is not very good. the graph doesn't look good.

here is a picture of the dvr 106:

and this is my plex124:

conclusion:
-with EFM very good safedisc2 backups
-average securom new backups (would say 50% do work)

but it also has a VERY good audio extraction. gets up to 33x speed with very good quality. not as fast as my plextor40 but it's still a good drive.
