I have a ps2 modded with old neo 2.2 chip. I saw that last games, mainly on dvd, don't boot on my ps2, they just hang on first black screen. I had a universal patcher (ADR pathcer 0.5), but seems that it doesn't has any effect on new ones.. plus the forum where those kind of problem were discussed, closed (ADR forum). So i don't know where i can get any info on fixing those games. An example is TRUE CRIME PAL PS2 DVD. If anybody can send me to any forum where i can find useful info or the existence of any newer patcher, would be great

neos r old chips no one hardly use's them no more u might have to upgarde to a no solder or flip top if u want to swap and play all the newer games or if u want a solder chip i would get a new system if i was u b4 soldering a chip cause im sure the laser is about to die from that neo vist

u might find out more there on how to boot it they do got a cd loader for it that might make it work for u but never heard any one useing it on a neo

that neo chip is a laser killer, what version ps2 do you have?

Is this the first time you tried to load dvd backups?? What boot disc are you using??? AR2, GS2 or swap magic?? Are you making DIRECT backups as in Dvd to Dvd-r/ CD to CD-R. If using AR2/GS2 are you using a Original dvd game with a TOC higher than the backup?? What version is the PS2?? Give us a little more info....
Also EVO and CrazyG are right, the neo will eat the laser.

it's not the first time i boot dvd. i boot succesfully games like gt3 etc, so the original dvd i use to boot is very big, like 4,6 gb. i use ar 2. it' a patch issue i'm sure, it's not a dvd media problem, since i used those dvds for other ps2 games. the fact is to find somebody interested in neo 2.2 games fixing topic, that build a universal patcher or that create fix for games that give problems..
ADR forum discussed about it, but now it's closed =\
just go here theres fixs to ever game u will prob need the cd loader to boot it

I doubt anyone here is still using the neo chip, due to the laser issues this chip causes but you can check out the site EvoEvo left you and see if it works. Worst case senario, it wont work, but atleast you tried.
