God, I've had so many experiences of downgrading Firmware, I can do it in my sleep, but I have a question:-

I have the official Fw.1.41 on my Pioneer 104 DVD-R/W, and it won't let me burn my Verbatim 2x DVD-R at 2x - bloody thing!

So, what is the best firmware to have on your 104 (Hacked 2x for all ripper) oh, there are so many  . What is the best to use? Thanks a lot.

And in the future, I am NOT getting a Pioneer DVD-R/W, BluRay recorder whatever, because the media never writes at the speed it should thanks to up their own Pioneer and their 'Firmware Updates,' to fix so-called bugs

Anyway, thanks for any help...

1.31 works flawlessly for me and everyone I know who has used it.

Does it allow 2x writing on Verbatim DVD-R as I though compatability was only added to CMC Magnetic discs on Fw 1.33. Thanks for your help so far Biggie. :D

It burned my Verbatim at 2x.

Oh yeah, you can get it here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sccs.ltd/pioneer2x4all/v131_a04.zip) :)
