Just got this drive and did my first test, only decent price DVD-R I could find in town were Princo 1X so I copied a DVD with "B's Gold5" (came with)at 1X and all went well, The DVD-R played fine in the PLAYER, great right? Well, I put the DVD-R back in the computer, first in the source drive (Aopen1240) -Not ready reading... it will not read the CD. OK, Aopen drives suck, not too surprised but when I put the DVD-R in the LG4040B - A device attached to the system not ready... WTF!?? why won't my PC read this DVD-R ?? (win98SE)?

- After I rebooted PC, now LG drive is reading the DVD-R but Aopen still no go, burned another, same thing. Guess I gotta dump this Aopen drive.

Hmm, AOpen drives do suck. Just dump the damn thing. I remember reading a post on a forum somewhere once, and someone had to ring up AOpen Technical support after it destroyed a CD. Apparantly, they just laughed and said, "Well what do you expect from a cheap drive?" They are a buch of arseholes with no ideas about what they are doing. Just dump it and get yourself a better drive.
