which is better when u include things like easy to install best features etc between flip top lids/slide cards/neo keys for the ps2 or the internal soldering modchips???

i know all the ps2 veterans are gonna say modchips but can someone actually explain what they reckon the pros and cons are for us newbies

much appreciated

im relly thinking of both i have a apple chip i love it but now the new games come out with 2x toc bs and the apple wont play it . So im thinking of getting a v9 system chiped but the way i figer its going to cost me 30$ for the chip and 50$ for the install not include the cost of a v9 unit so im going to have to save up some cash on that. but in the mean time i might pick up a no solder and swap disk so i can play games like true crime :) freedom fighters and splinter cell.

Solder chips r great but r pricey and hard to install but no mor swaping :)
No solder/flip top chips work great r cheap ez install but some new games need cd loader which is alot of swaping would suck to have to do it ever time. and also the swap disk can be picky on loading some times.
Slide crads r s**t enough said i order one by mistake i cant even figer how it would open a door its a POS

Modchips are better hands down. Its like buying a car with auto windows rather than getting one that you actually have to roll the window down yourself.

Thanks guys. i think its a hands down decision, modchips win no Q's !!!!

Evoevo, think im gonna take your advice and splash out £20 on a flip top for now, and then when i find someone near me, get a proper chip installed

take care guys!!!

u will have to get swap magic with ur flip top in order to play the games i belive swap magic 3 is out in pal which fixs alot of stuff that swap magic 2 couldnt do and u can always resell the stuff when u get ur solder chip :)

I got the slide card and magic swap disc and have had no problems playing any backups, im new with this stuff and have only played cd-r backups. I'm yet to burn a dvd backup in the next day or so but otherwise the slide card works great for cd-r.

or a tape player insted of a cd player

its better to get a non swap mod instead it sucks if u get an pnp mod or flip lid or even a sh** slide card

It is just v9 systems and it is not just the M2 that has this issue.

most the post i seen that had killed ps2's was the older m2 not the newset one but they said it could happen with other chips so i hope it dose'nt with my smart chip
