I have just got a new system which is fitted with an Optowrite 52x24x52 burner. Is this any good at copying protected games cd's (safedisc2 etc), or should I replace it with the Plextor 121032A as the recommended best burner on your site? Or do you have any other makes/models to suggest as good for 1:1 copies of protected games?
Speed is not so important as reliable copying.
Hope to hear from someone who knows!

The list on the GCW site is well out of date. The best drives to have at the minute are either one of the Lite-on series...or the Plextor Premium (expensive).

I use a Sony DVD+RW/CD-RW (DRU110A) and have NEVER had any probs burning games. It is EXREMELY slow though, only 12x CD-R, 10x CD-RW, I also have used Alcohol 120% and Alcoholer with great success. I have been able to copy every game that I have bought, even the day they come out with 100% success, but, I rip games to my HD and don't make CD-Backups, you need a fairly large (@ least 120 GB recommended) HD but, that is only if you are ripping your games.
