I've got a widescreen TV (16:9) my problem is on most DVDs I still have two black lines on the top and bottom of the screen. With some DVDs I don't. I think it's because most DVDs aren't exactly 16:9 aspect....

What I'm wanting to know is if there's anyway to get rid of the little black lines when I create a backup of my DVD? Is there a program out there that will allow me to do this?

If you don't want the black bars either use the zoom feature that most dvd players have or get fullscreen dvds.

That doesn't answer my question, I want to know If there's a program that will allow me to actually edit the video. So I can stretch the video out.

Why would I buy a fullscreen DVD when I have a widescreen TV?

Don't you have a zoom feature on your dvd player? If not, change your screen aspect on your tv from wide to full.

The answer is YES you can. But its a long and tedious encode. You would have to get your files into MPEG format then use TMPEG encoder to change the ratio. It doesnt exactly remove the bars, but it does enlarge the picture so it shows bigger on your screen. Its the same as using ZOOM on your dvd player like Biggie has been trying to tell you.
