This is a thread posted for the sole purpose of giving credit to the great many ps2 modchip installers out there. After a lot of thought I came upon an idea on how to do this.
This is how its going to work. This will be an open thread but ONLY to post who you have used and if you give them a Great, Good, Bad, or Horrible rating. Each user can only post ONE rating per installer.
I will then edit the post to show ratings for each installer. If your installer is not on the list just post the name and your rating and I'll add him/her to the list with your new rating.
Please keep in mind this is not here to flame anyone. This is strictly a rating thread, so no one has to go into detail about the installer. As a matter of fact your replies will be deleted and will only be added to the rating numbers.
So anyone who wants to start the rating just reply to this thread with your rating.

For people looking to chip their PS2:
I would warn them NOT to use Mod Chip Scotlandīs service. They agreed to help me to install the messiah2 clone but could not live up to their promise. Instead I had to accept the non-solder chip which did not work. Also, the PS2 was sent back without the power lead and they denied having received it!!!

Had a installation done by Freedomlives.com. Service was GREAT, had trouble with my modchip (M2 Pro) (I didn't it purchase from them). Sent it back three times, in the end they provided me with a free modchip (Which now gives me no troubles whatsoever! (Even though the modchip was to blame for my troubles) Paid for return shipping fees (Total of 2 return shipping fees for repairing) and also got a free shirt!
So all in all I rate Freedomlives.com.......GREAT!!:D

I ordered my son a Pre-modded PS2 on Saturday evening and had it delivered to my door on Tuesday and that was because Monday was a holiday. Fast and Friendly service. Also the price was unbelievable reasonable.

ordered 08/05/03 and still haven't gotten my ps2. everytime ive talked to him he has given some type of excuse. ive been contacting him for the past two months and emailing him also. no response at all. Im at he point now that i don't know what to do short of flying out to San Diego and paying him a little visit to get my money back or my system.

This is without a doubt the best place to get your mods done. John modded my PS2 with a DMS3 beutifully, not to mention that he is very quick about it! He even went out of his way to exchange my v9 chip which i mistakenly ordered with a V1-8! How many places will do that for you?

NORCAL mods ...great! awesome service, awesome follow up, (he'll keep in touch w/ you every step of the way) sent from ny on tues afternoon rec'd on fri. emailed a pic of the board w/ chip fr nite, back in the mail sat-- got back on tues am (and friday/mon were holidays-how sick is that?) 1 WEEK TOTAL! do not sent your ps2 anywhere else... modesto's not all bad i guess, this place rocks!

I am new to all of this and am glad I found this forum and this thread. I took everyones advice from here and went with norcalmods, and got my PS2 back very fast and the service was awesome. I am still bugging norcalmods with newbie questions and getting very promt answers.

This is the place to have a mod done. John was extremely helpful with all my newbie questions. I e-mailed him at least a dozen times for help before I got my chip, and continue to e-mail him. He's always super quick to respond, and did an awesome job staying in touch with me about my chip. He even sent a picture of my chip!

NetMech's work is flawless. Decided to send him my DMS3 V7 console for repairs. He fixed it within a couple days, and kept me informed on everything he was doing to the system throughout the whole transaction through emails and IMs. All in all, he repaired it and redid the horrific DMS3 installation that was put in by another installer (Krawl-Fastmodz). My ps2's functionality is incredibly improved. His work is great...great person to deal with, and I'm currently in the process of doing business with him again. Absolutely number 1 in my book. Give him a try and you won't regret it. My vote for AmericanModz...GREAT.

Ordered a PS2 Matrix Infinity pre-mod over AIM with NetMech. He was very quick to respond to any questions I had, and only a week after I paid, the PS2 was at my door! (We live across the country from each other and it was Fedex Ground).
I would definitely do business with him again, and I probably will!

this is the best service i've seen i ordered my ps2 on a saturday got it on a monday. with a matrix infinity modchip installed. was shocked when games that were not playable were now playable on my ps2. thanks norcal you are the best.

Not only did Netmech install my DMS3 flawlessly but he repaired my ****ty attempt and tracked down a brand new laser.
Had it all installed/repaired within 2 weeks, the extra time was the laser install/repair because I was picky ;).
I loved his work so much I'm burning his address into my PS2. :D

1. Communication excellent via email. John answered all my emails prompty prior to & during the install.
2. Install time excellent. Shipped Mon, received Sat same week and I'm from the Midwest.
3. Quality excellent. Received a photo of completed install. Received the PS2 packaged the same way it was sent. That's impressive considering it was packaged to survive a 15 ft drop onto concrete.
4. Professional service. Exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend.

another satisfied norcalmods customer... john fixed my ps2 after i blew a fuse trying to do the install myself... he ordered and replaced the fuse... and installed a matrix infinity on my V7... works great!! if you're a newb looking to get a chip i would definitely recommend getting it installed by a pro (norcalmods), if i could do it over again i wouldn't have even considered doing it myself. i would def do business with them again.

I guess I'll add myself to the list of satisfied customers for Norcalmods. John installed a Matrix Infinity in my V7. Very fast & courteous email responses before during & after the installation from both John & Monica. Matter of fact, he emailed me as he was working on my machine. Makes it feel like you're dealing with " the local guy" even though we're on opposite coasts.
John received my PS2 on a Friday 9/10, I got it back on Friday 9/17 in NY. Of course, everything's working perfectly or I wouldn't be writing this message lol.
John & Monica know what it takes to do business! No disrespect to any other installers but Norcalmods deserves all the props they get. If you're gonna get your machine chipped, don't look any further!

Heard some horror stories about installers out there everything from burning their ps2 to theft. Still I had a better chance of trusting someone to do it than I would have trying to do it myself.
Heard about norcalmods from another forum and decided to trust them. I couldnt have made a better decision. Excellent excellent service. Great communication, I had a version 1 ps2 and he took the time to send me about 5-6 emails giving me advice when he could have easily took my money then left me with a ps2 that would have probably quit reading games in a few months. I picked up a refurbed ps2, sent it off to him and got it back quick.
I also dont want to take anything away from other installers but if you want someone who does a great job, who is honest, quick, and gives you the time it takes check out Norcalmods, specifically John.
Got a matrix infinity installed in a version 7 ps2 and love it. Also nice to know that I dont have to worry about looking for another installer in the future I have found a great one!
I really cant say enough nice things about them.

This thread has been retired. It was brought up and voted upon and it seems clear that Northcal Mods is the only one left using it. Im sure we can all agree that he is an excellent installer and there is no use to continue racking up the votes. If more installers appear then maybe we can start this up again but until then it is retired.
Do not worry this will not be deleted or taken off the UIS.
