Does anybody know where to get a DB25 Parallel Cable (male->female) with the length of about 2ft to flash a clean x-ecuter2.2 pro.
I don't have the chip yet, but from I've been reading it looks like you need this cable to flash the chip. Does anybody know where to get it at or do you have to make it yourself becuase I haven't been able to find one that small in lenght.
Or what do you guys use?

I'm really new to the xbox scene so i'm sure exactly how to do this......how do flash a clean chip with evox, do use a burnt cd, if so how can you boot it without a properly working chip (in this case a blank chip)?
there are 3 ways to flash that i know of.
1) use x2bm and flash with the parallel port(you will probably need a female to female cable for this not male to female)
2) if you laready have you mod in, using evox to flash is real easy.
3) another way that is handy if you have an older version of linux on you mod is making a disk with ozflash and then another disk with the bios on it or if your fortunate enough to have a newer version of linux all you need is a bios disk and it linux will run it automatically
that's the onnly 3 ways i've ever used for any xecuter2 with evox

can you run evox on a basically unmoded xbox (in this case moded, but with a blank chip)?
the best way seems to be using a prallel port.......the only problem is the length of the cable. On the website that sells it, it says the cable has to be around 2 feet.......on another forum i read that it really doesn't matter how long the cable is, do you know if this is true?

dont let your girlfriend lie - length does matter! :p
generally all cabling has a length maximum that it will carry data - I dont know exactly what that is for the cabling you want but I dont see why it couldnt be a little longer
Just dont go crazy like from one end of your house to the other or something. I would only make it as big as you had to have it though.

I'm guessing you are using this cable serially on a com port? 10 ft sounds too far to me but I dont really know what the recommended max is.

I just found another website that sells this chip and they say that the chips comes Preflashed with the Legal FlashBIOS (based on the Cromwell Linux) BIOS......with this I can just make a bios cd and flash using flashbios.
they also sell the parallel cable used for external flashing for $8, so i'm buying it (just in case).
Thanks for the help.
