Get AnyDVD to go with it.

I have both AnyDVD and CloneDVD. For some reason or another, it keeps rebooting my system. I'm running it under XP. By turning off the auto restart, I get a blue screen with error in AnyDVD. I uninstalled it and my system does not reboot itself anymore. I also have a Pioneer 105 with this. I've done extensive checks on viruses and worms. Nothing was found. Any insight on this would be helpful. Thanks.

kiwie1, same thing happens to me, using CloneDVD 1.3.10.1 and AnyDVD 2.0.0.4 on a Win XP Pro SP1 system. This must be a problem with XP Pro, because the same thing happens on three different motherboards (Abit BH7, IS7, and Asus P4P800), however, when I downgrade to Win 2k SP4, I have no problems. I've even switched burners from a Lite-On LDW411 to a Sony DRU510 and the same thing happens. Believe me, I've spent DAYS swapping mobo's and hardware and loading OS's to troubleshoot the problem down to Win XP SP1. For now, I've decided to run Win 2k on my burning system. It's not worth the frustration to use XP Pro.

I use XP Pro and I dont have any problems with ANYDVD 2.0.0.4 or CloneDVD (latest version). Never had either. XP Pro is just fine with me and its been a pleasure using it.

What hardware are you using? Motherboard, vid card, etc.? I think it may be a problem with the interface between my hardware and Win XP Pro as this problem occurs after installs of XP Pro. I'll be damned if I can figure it out, but I have absolutely NO problems with installs of Win 2k.

This is the kind of problem that makes me want to buy a DELL ;)

All I got is a 2 year old Compaq Presario with a Pentium 3 850mhz PC. Sorry dont know all the specifics cause all I basically do is use it to back up my games and movies.

Whenever I use CloneDVD (w/ AnyDVD) It reads it. but when it starts to write it say under the "write bar" idle then changes to Setting up, erasing, then to Abort. After that an Error message appears saying "DVD Cannot be burned WriteDVD 5 5" Do you know how to fix this?

I just use CloneDVD to make the files on my HDD then I use RNM and do a databurn with that.

I"m sorry, what is RNM?
if it's part of CloneDVD I'm sorry I haven't really explored it yet

RNM = RecordNow Max.

Its a burning program.

I am also getting a blue screen during the reading operation using CloneDVD 1.3.11.2. Perhaps those of us that are getting this having some hardware or driver issue in common. Is anyone running the following:

1). Asus Pentium 4 motherboard
2). ATI graphics card (I have ATI Radeon 9500 Pro)
3). MS Wireless keyboard/mouse
4). Epson status monitor for Epson printer
5). Lite-On DVD+RW drive (I have model 401S)

I have taken my antivirus off my system and disabled many things. It doesn't matter which DVD I try to backup, I get the blue screen. Not sure what is causing this.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

FGump
