wonder with the v8 units u know how sony said there able to read dvdr's wonder if they mean it will read any brand better then the v7 units say like princo i saw on ps2newz they did a mod test on a v8 unit and i think they had a big game like gt3 on a princo and it played fine i will check more into that or if any body knows any thing about this feel free to relpy

1 v9 - Jap 50000MB GH-023 BIOS 100 with HDD installed but not used for the tests
2 v8 - HK 39008 GH-022 BIOS 090
3 v7 - US 39001 GH-019 BIOS 070

It is a v9 not v8 that has the supposed better laser.

as far i know it has the same laser as the v7 I have seen. a 400c laser

theres no telling how long till v9 units come to the US there still selling v7s in the stores
Then I shall wait for the v9!!! :D
