yea i was just thinking
is it possible to play pal games (like UK and all taht)
on a ntsc xbox?
with an x2 4977 bios..?

You might have to use the 'Enigmah Video Mode' selecter to change to PAL, since your in the US. I Have a PAL machine which plays NTSC games fine on PAL50hz and 60 without using the Video Selecter. Only some games require proper NTSC mode. I'm not sure how a proper NTSC would behave towards a PAL game.

yep i agree with hans i too use ntsc games on my pal machine without any problems

If your lucky enough to have a TV that supports the RGB connectors, just go buy a RGB XBox cable and use it.

With the PS2 I know theres away to force it to play PAL or NTSC but I don't think there is a way to that with the XBox (yet). :mad:

Now from what I've been told the newer PAL TVs, mainly the ones in the UK don't mind playing NTSC movies or games. But the US NTSC TVs don't take it so well. I know they make hardware that site in between your hardware (being your XBox) and your TV and will convert the signal. I will see if I can find the page that sells it again.

I wouldn't give up that easy. There may be patches or some thing like for PS2 games.

Also I found theseconverters (http://www.threedoubleyou.com/converters.htm) that will convert PAL to NTSC. Its about 1/3 way down the page.

Now they are based in the UK. They said it would cost about $78 and I went and checked the exchage rate for 08/20/03 and it came to $79.59938.

So any way... Maybe some one here knows away yo get around it. There has to be some way.

Aye isnt there a scart where it converts your pal signal to ntsc? I remember people talking about it on the Ps2 forum months ago.

yea with these many advance in the xbox world already
im surprised it isnt already well-known

it could be possible that the x2 bios could just enable pal as well
but im unsure really
a lil more checkin around would help i think

id imagine it would tell you to insert a proper xbo dvd game in, what used to happen with me on psx

If the game plays and you have a stable image on your TV it will be in black and white.
