i have a ps2 ver4 w/ pioneer a05. could i backup a cd-based game onto a dvd-r? just curious. how bout 2 cd games onto one dvd-r?
Sounds easy but not as easy as u would think.
The actual game data is the same but the boot sequence and handshake for a dvd game is totally different to a cd based game and requires reprogramming.
I am suprised that some switched on cookie hasn;t already put several cd based games onto a dvd with customised menu but I expect it's coming ( of course all originals would have to be previously owned before u could have a compilation!!!)
Regards
Been there.... Done that......
Just out of curiosity... I tried burning a cd based game... (aka Ncaa football 2002) to a dvd disc.....
NOPE.....
I tried this 3 different ways....
ISO... NOPE
.GI image... NOPE
DATA..... NOPE
(Yes... I wasted 3 DVD-R's to see if it would work).... :(
I have also tried burning multiple cd based games to a single DVD-R......
The best I have come up with is being able to get to the MENU to select what game you want...... AFTER that...... DONE.....
It is a excellent idea... BUT up to this point no-one has been able to get it to work correctly.....
Maybe one day.... BUT as of right now.... NOPE......:(
Yes the program with the game selector is already out. What the chap who designed it forgot to do was create some sort of patch utility that changed the game information from a CD type to that of DVD. Right now all you can do with it is put two really small games on one CD.
