I'm new at DVD stuff heres my question. Was thinking of putting in a DVD Rom for awhile. I was wondering is it possible to copy video somehow off of TV to cdr's then change the format to dvd? Using the game plug ins to the computer line in or something? Just wondering.
I have digital research 16x internal dvd. Thankyou Pontiac1
Would imagine you would stick a phono socket into a tv capture card from a ext source like a tv , video or dvd player your capture card software would copy the video information as a mpeg2 file,(need to put audio in on the line in conector of the sound card too) Then u could use Ulead workshop to make a menu and convert to vobs to burn to DVD.

I have transferred the second season of smallville to dvd this year.... I started recording the shows onto my Canon digital camcorder then capturing the video into my computer using Adobe Premiere 6.5. I then used the plugin for exporting mpeg format and then used DVDIT PE to code the data and then burned with Nero...It worked great. I put three episodes on each dvd. Of course the chapters do not work because they really are not supported in Adobe, even though the help menu shows you how......This was straight from an Adobe Premiere Tech dude..... They have a new program coming out in the summer... YOu could skip the digital camera step if you had a video capture card in your computer... It would be the same way you would transfer your old wedding and birthday tapes to dvd...But my way...I know I have it taped...then I have all kinds of time to mess with it......... I usually just let it record the commercials, then I edit them out. 2 hours of video is roughly 27 gigs after you capture it to your computer...So I could only do a couple at a time, until I get my external hard drive....
Hope that helps..........
