View Full Version : What stuff for AOE:the conquerers
I hear its hard to copy microsoft games, what stuff do I need to copy it. And also how do I. Do i have to copy it to my harddrive and then put it on to a cd or what. This is my 1st time. sorry
do a search on my name i posted a few times on this, moribund, mori or lorelord. explain in detail how to do it. basic way is here
run clone cd
copy cd as image
click read subchannel data
click read subchannel audio
click fast errors skip open that bit up and set to 5 times and software
then copy to image
once copied to image put blank cd in
copy image to cd
click delete after succesfull copy as only allowed 1 back up by law in some countries but that is your preference.
click dont repair subchannel data
then copy image to cd i normaly copy at half the spped of what my copier or cd can cope with but thats upto you, with safe disk 2 it used to be quicker to copy ( succesfully) at 1X speed than any other.
(with new version of clone it also says amplify weak sectors. not used this as got 100% perfect copy the way i said above this is for safe disc 2 copying ,so leave that upto you, on another game. but on other games do not click dont repair subchannel data, for on most games this makes the game unplayable aok is one of the exceptions)
use clone to copy BUT MAKE SURE YOU CLICK DO NOT REPAIR SUBCHANNEL DATA ON THE IMAGE YOU MADE when copying from image to cd.
if you do the copy lock (no-cd) gets repaired and once installed the game will ask you for the cd. (IMPORTANT SO SAID IT TWICE)
2 protections on cd an early safedisk2 ( sometimes registers as safedisk) and no-cd.
most peeps only get rid of one of the protections then wonder why cd not work. either in setting the game up or in trying to run it. also part of protection boot you out of game between 15-30 mins of play if not backed up properly ( buggy very early safedisk 2 version ).
hope that helped
