Do you know what can I do? I think the lens still works, I mean the glass, I think it is those wires that surrounds the lens (it's called "bobina" in spanish)... also, do you know where I can buy these lens in US?

What exactly is wrong with it? Be more specific.

Well.. let me explain... I purchased the magic 3.1 because the blue chip wouldn't fit.. at least that was what I was told (I have a 35001 board). I tried a lot of backups until I tried one damaged backup... didn't see how damaged was the CDR. When I inserted it the ps2 started to make strange noises like :"TAC TAC TAC TAC TAC"... I switched it off... after that any of the backups won't run... and with the original games it will take about a minute or so to read it... when it reads it reads perfect, videos don't flicker, pause or jump, same loading times as before, etc. some PSX backups still run... but still they take about a minute to read. When I push the reset button it goes through the intro, then to the browser navigator and then about 30 secs later after trying to read it succesfully starts.
I opened the console and saw some of the wires around the lens blackened... in other words I fried the lens. but I dont see the glass damaged, only the wires surrounding it some of them with a dark gray color... burnt.
Do you know where I can buy these lens in US? I live in Venezuela, but I have a PO Box Service...

I have a very important question... as I stated before, my ps2 lens fried. My PS2 was working perfect until I modded it. The technincian said that it was my fault, the lens was burned in such way that it was made by bad media. The only bad media I found in the tray was my little brother trying to play Winning Eleven 5, that cd had horrible scratches, some sort of "green dirt" and some transparent sections at the beginning of the cd. My little brother came to me and told me that the CD didn't want to boot, I went to check and when I saw the PS2 making sounds like "TAC TAC TAC TAC TAC TAC" I switched it off. When I eject the CD I see it's condition... after that my ps2 lens takes forever to load ps2 orginal games, backups won't load... The technician said that the lens couldn't find reflective sections so it overpowered until it burnt... IS THAT TRUE? CAN THAT ACTUALLY HAPPEN? i though the only way to burn lens in less than two minutes was to light a match and burn it... Since I'm not a technician I can't check if it was that "CD" or if it was a bad adjustment in the laser...
Any advice will be appreciated... Thanks
