Ok

Has anyone had any experience with the Debug Playstation2 that developers use? I work with one and you may or may not know that the DVD playback function is disabled, (trying to play a DVD you get the message "DVD player is not set up")

I know it is a long shot but I want to try and get it working as I would like to watch a DVD at work in my breaks but cannot. Anyone help with any advice?

It is not the massive dev station but the same size as the retail version with just the DVD player not active

It has all the parts but it must be disabled on the motherboard somehow.

I would assume it's not disabled on the motherboard, they you probably couldn't use the system for dvd games. It probably just doesn't have the drivers on any of the chips. The only thing that might work is to take a chip out of a normal PS2 and put it in your system. You'd have to find out what one has the drivers stored on it. I highly recomend not trying that though, I have my doubts if it would even work.

It'd be better to just buy a cheap dvd player for work. Like an Apex, they're like $50 and play just about everything you throw at it.
