I recently bought Soul Reaver from Sold-Out Software because i never had it on the PC.

Well i wanted to start playing it again but surprise. No movies, why? Here is the reason:

We used a system called EscapePlay to run the introduction
movie. EscapePlay examines the specifications of the machine
and decides the best way to play the movie

And further down in the readme it says that this stupid program thinks that if the system cannot play the movie it will skip over. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, i want the movies.

Does anyone know how i can overcome this stupid "EscapePlay"?

Is there a NO-Cd for this game? Hopefully that EscapeCrap is located only on the CD and it is not required to run.

N/m, the problem was the 1.2 patch.

Anyway, i tried finding a No-CD but couldn't find one that worked. Does anyone know of any?

So, can you see the movies with/without patch 1.2 ? If you're still having problems, look up the file extension of the movie files, something like .avi, .bik, .smk and tell me...

I can see the movies without the 1.2 patch.
The file extension is .rpl.


I did checked that page earlier but i saw only Fixed Exe's, no No-CD.

There are more cracks here (http://www.megagames.com/cracks/html/c82375_0.htm), one of those should be a 1.2 nocd.

Tried too, still no go.

And about the video problem... found a solution. I was supposed to uninstall my wheel as the game thought it was a gamepad but the controlling was haywire.

Mmmm.... if all the cracks won't work, maybe it's time to get Alcohol120% and try it with that. Not ideal, but this will definitely work.
