Hi, I´m new in this Forum, I have a question, I´ve been making Pc Backups for 5 years, I know very well how to make work backups, but now I´m interested in PS2 and DC, so, I want to know (if someone can help me, please) if I can do backups using CloneCd only, without any patch or else (with CdWriter 100% compatible). I´ve been visiting some posts and seems that it´s possible, but I´m not sure.
And too, if I need to make a hardware modification in the PS2, in that case (CloneCd backup)
Thanks to all. Let´s Play.
The problem with trying to copy playstation 2 games is: THEY ARE DVD's!!!! U need a DVD burner to burn playstation 2 games.
All PS2 games ARE NOT DVD's, most of them are regular cd's..... however, a few games are DVD's. What game are you trying to burn?? it is possible, if the game is not on DVD (which isn't hard to come by on PS2 nowadays.
don't give up on ps2, you'll be seeing burns around sooner than ya think
PS2 discs are in the main just normal cdrs and can be burned with CDRWin or CloneCD. Some titles by EASports have to be patched to work with mod chiops or cheat carts.
Do a search on Google for modchips and PS2
BUT, you cannot re-produce a bootable cd at the moment. Unless you want to fart about with swapping cds and buying Action Replay cartridges, wait about a month and get a NEO4 chip added to your PS2.
You'll then be able to play CDR backups of PS2 game as if they were originals
