PS2 vs PSX

Hi all,
please what is the difference between both PS2 and PSX ... I am really messed up.
Second question, what do you mean by ripping a game ??? is it to to exchange the DVD format to many CDs ???

PSX= Playstation
PS2= Playstation 2
Ripping a game reduces the size of the game and allows you to burn to a cdr or multiple cdrs if necessary. Check here (http://www.psx-paul.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/patches-ripping.htm) for some ripping links. Do this if you don't have a dvd burner.
