Backup of AOE2

I need to make a backup of Age of Empires 2 before my son ruins the current CD. What is the best way to accomplish this? I know that MS has some sort of Copy Protection on the disk and that I will need a third party utility to copy the CD, but I don't know where to find one.
Any help in this matter would be appericated.

if you like the full version buy it as it is worth the money and without support the company and the program, will cease to exist.

then run clone
make an image of cd using these settings

fast error skip ticked
click on the fast error skip settings at end and set this
read speed max
read reties 0
error correction software

personally i found ticking
read sub channel data for audio/data tracks helped with diffrent versions of cd writters ( will only slow it down by 1 min so worth the ticking)

but that will get you a perfect copy ie no need for a no cd crack

i use the mistsumi cr-4805 te and it can copy perfect copies of everything and can play them all back on its own. but with safe disc 2 it will still play back on its own but not on another cd rom.

but with using sandra sis ( for cd info )and unsafedisc i can make perfect copies for any other machine. but only used for kids machine as i lost a few cds to them before so was cheaper to buy a cd writter then new cds. if they swapped in scratched cds would be no need for legit users to need a back up copy.

with regards to aok it is only safedisc 1 and nearly all new cd writters can copy this using sets i put up above if it runs in dao.

oops btw forgot you need to burn the image you made. best do it at 1x speed thta way less chance of making a coaster
