Is it able to download a new firmware to sony crx145E-RP?? And if so where can i download it? and another question....what is a firmware? what good does it do?

The firmware is a kind of BIOS for a device. Like a "normal" BIOS it is stored in a ROM in the hardware.
If you install a firmware update you flash this ROM and overwrite its content with the updated firmware.

If firmware updates are available, you can usally download them at the homepage of the manufacturer of the hardware.

There was just firmware uppdate for old cd-r or cd-rw´s, does that mean that i cant uppdate my firmware or that i just didnt search good enough?
