How to play Max Payne without cd?

Hi. I went and downloaded the Max Payne ver. 1.0 no cd/fixed .exe file . i still have to ####t the game with the cd. Or did I screw something up? Thanks

I assume you have installed the game and replaced the game.exe file as per the GCW instructions?

If so, have you deleted the old one and re-done your shortcut?

My directory for the game is c:\programfiles\maxpayne. I replaced the original .exe file with the cracked one. I dragged the cracked exe file from the payne directory to my desktop and was getting an error message when trying to ####t the game. For some reason, the file would only run when I clicked on it in the max payne folder (directory). What I had to do was create a shortcut right in the max payne directory, then drag the shortcut to my desktop instead of just copying the cracked exe to my desktop. Did I confuse anyone? I wonder why I had to do this? Do I have brain freeze and I forgot the basics of windows? Thanks all.

probably cos you already had a shortcut for the original max payne.exe file created by the install prog.

Use the right-click and "send to desktop" option in future.

Or forget all cracks and use Daemon Tools. Create and image with any of several burning progs then mount and run it. Very easy to use and great support from its creators
