I bought my PS2 a couple of years from now already.
It's the one with the limited GT3 package(the red box) so i'm guessing it's Generation 4 for the PS2.
Neways, It's a modded ps2 and i think the mod is pretty old.
The mod need to use gameshark to boot up games and now a days it can't boot up those DVD nemore, i used to be able to probably because my chip is getting outdated.
Neways i just brought my PS2 to the store to get it repaired(the lense) and now i wanna remod it.
I want to know, is Magic 3 good? or a chip called Messiah better?
Please help me out guys, and give me all the infos 'bout this!
I spent too much money on this system already and if i bought the wrong mod i'll probably be spending even more so please save me!:cool:

Spend a little extra money and get the messiah 2. You will have 100% fewer problems and head aches if you get the messiah 2 over the magic 3. The magic 3 has all sorts of problems.

Certain games skip throughout gameplay or simply don't boot. The messiah 2 is problem free.

I heard Messiah is a copied version of Magic is that true?

LOL! No way. The messiah 2 is in a field of its own. You can visit the messiah 2 website here (www.messiah2.com). If you are interested in purchasing one, send charlie_ps2 or dust2dust an email through this forum.

I am very much interested, but i really have no idea how to install it AND I don't know if it supports my PS2.

Yes, the messiah 2 will work fine in your v4. You can send your ps2 to Bill at freedomlives.com for installation. He does a superb job.

I sent mine all the way from Oregon. I highly recommend you send it to him. I have heard tons of horror stories from people using "the local guy at the shop." Bill guarantees all his work and does thourgh testing to make sure everything is working ok.

Bighap is right about Bill and www.freedomlives.com, I also sent one of my ps2's for him to chip and had no probs, turn around time is very good also, for me it was 7 days.
