i would like to backup a dvd9 on 1dvd-r 4.7gb
i don't care about menu , but would like to have ac3 sound.
i saw dvd backup that have no menu and that had 1 or 2 ac3 sound channel. depend on the lenght of the movie.

i know there a way to do that. even if that took lots of time , but i would like the method to works on every movie , even dvd that when ripped make 8 gb .

i already worked on that , i don't ask without even searched.
i used dvd2one to make bakcup (dvd-r) of my dvd but after recorded with record now max ,

it appear to works on some dvd player but not on all ,
even on sony or philips dvd player it say " cannot play that disc"
but sony dvd player can read dvd-r so what am i doing wrong?

or maybe it's all the method that is not good?

that would be very cool if someone could tell here what prog he use and when , to make what ..........

i would grandly appreciate that help .

i already took a look , seems easy with a dvd less that 4.7 ripped , but when the rip make 8gb and u have removed all the extra but hte movie still make more than 4.7 like 5.1gb for exemple , i know there is a way to reencode with tmpeg but how to do that ?

By far the easiest way to back up your dvds is by using dvdxcopy (dvdxcopy.com). This usually requires splitting to two dvd-r but you can keep all feautes and true dvd quality.

you must use smartripper to copy the hole dvd to your hd.
then use dvd2one(dowloaded from kazaa wirh serialcrack)
you kan shoes the movie en the subtitel whith dolby sound.

I agree with Bighap.....

I don't use dxdxcopy, BUT I split all movies that are over the 4.37 gb limit and put them on 2 dvd-r's.....

Better quality, and you don't have to waste time re-encoding...

AND they work in ALL dvd players..... Even in the cheap 65 dollar ones....:)

By far the easiest and best way I have found to copy a DVD to 1 DVDR/RW:

1. Use DVD decrypter to copy the DVD to you HD
2. Use DVD2one to reduce the size of the original to under 4.5gb
3. use any DVD recording software you want to create the DVD

This will remove all menus and all but the selected language and angle.
It is oh-so-simple, read this guide:

http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/141024.php#dvd9

There are instructions for single and dual layer DVDs

Note:
The tutorial suggests only extracting the main movie, but you can just extract the whole movie onto your HD, then when you use DVD2one, it will remove all unnecessary content.
