Downloading the Patriot in divix form!

Downloading the Patriot in divix form ,Now I have a Sony DRU 500a dvd burner that suports all 4 formats of copying.When i use Record now its the program that came with my burner is there anything else I need to do before I burn a copy so I can watch it on my DVD player.And another thing how can you edit paerts in the movie to make it smaller in size what programs should I use Thank you for the help.

hi m8 ok first of all you need to recompress the video file i use rempeg2 which is good and easy to use which makes the file smaller there are others but thats what i use then u need to author the film with a prog like spruce up dvd or dvd it or another dvd autoring prog then all u do after that is write it to disk using a prog like nero or prassi dvd simple can take a while though recompressing takes ages it takes about 4 hours on m 1.8 thunderbird so les cpu longer more quicker obviously

not all movies but quite a lot you will probably have to change the format back to dvd format but not sure as ive not done any from divx yet i copy straight from the dvd orig and once youve ripped of all the chapters and extras and are left with just the film and sound alot of the time you can just author it then burn
