Hi....
just a quick ? about PS 2 modz
I know everyone is having problems with Magic 2 and 3 no swap mod.....and all the buzz is around the Messiah 2........witch I'm going to order......but to get to my ?.............does anyone know anything about the Matrix 2 No Swap Modchip for PS2 ( V7 ) .........it's all over the net and claims to be a no swap mod.....but I haven't heard of any problems with it......so anyone using this or know anything........
THANKZ.................
I'll stop rambling on now......
You havn't heard any problems with it because nobody has one. Not a whole lot of people had the original Martrix either. Like the Magic 3, it is another Messiah 2 clone. No clones of the original Messiah or the Messiah 2 are better than the originator.

Not everybody is having probs with Magics! I thought Magic2 was a great chip, now, having tried Magic3 I don't want anything else! The board layout makes it easier to install than the Messiah2. (And yes I have done a few Messiah2's to draw comparison).
A friend of mine won't try Messiah2 or Magic3 because he loves the Magic2 so much!!!!
As for all the buzz????????? Well you obviously havn't heard about the track cut or the double wire for the clk have you?
No, I didn't think so.

Funny, Magic3 was released before Messiah2! Uses a higher voltage, uses its own clock, took six months for Messiah to be V7 compatible................. shall I go on? Easy to see why peeps think it's a clone pmsl.
As yet Messiah2 hasn't been cloned. There is no reason to clone the Messiah2. No-swap mods are established now (all credit to Messiah1 there). Until the teething problems are ironed out, who would want to?

Just for the record I am not anti-Messiah! It is a good reliable chip.
I obtained 4 Messiah2's to draw my own conclusions (I'm not as gullible as some in the forums lol).
The factors that influence me are;
I dont find either chip to be any better than the other.
Magic3 is cheaper. Messiah is just a brand name.
Magic3 is easier to install.
The only reason I would be tempted to use Messiah2 is the simpler boot operation (Magic is hardly difficult tho).
I don't use the standard installation points for magic3, check out my webpage for a piccie.
