How to downsize MGS:Substance to one DVD?

I would be very willing to rip out the video (like the huge intro) so i can size it down to one DVD-R, if any one could give me advice, or point me to tool that can extract/repack the dat files on the MGS disk then i would be a happy camper ;)

Also those with released versions could do the same, mines a back up from a DVD.

Hmm, I don't have that game, so I can't really help. But how big is cd1, and cd2?

Again, i got it from the retail DVD, the files total to a huge 6.41GB, if there is a way to unpack the games dat files and remove or replace the large video files with smaller ones, then the game could fit on a single DVD, so if ya have any info on breaking open the dat files let me know ;)

Intresting, there are two series of files + the defualt.xbe

file listing...

defualt.xbe
disk1_#.dat , # were 0-8 is
disk2_#.dat , # were 0-8 is

Each series equal to 3.2GB
So total is 6.41GB

The dat files range in size from
183MB to 765MB and there are 18 total
