Hello to anyone out there,
If you know the answer to my question or any info that would help, please post.

Thanks

I was wondering why in order to change the bios on an xbox (at least from my understanding) you need a chip. Then you also have to flash that chip?

Why couldn't one just flash the onboard bios and change the Xbox bootable files?

If anyone knows where I am going with this lend me a hand and help me understand why I couldn't do all that.

Thanks Again

Well I have been researching the programable mods the past hours, and I found the Matrix and the Xecuter-2. They both seem really good. Does anyone have an opinion on those mods.

Thanks

Get the x-ecutor2.

I dunno y you'd want to flash the online bios. As soon as you try to connect to xbox live with a modchip, you are banned...permanately! The x-ecutor and matrix chips have disable switches. So you can turn it off/on and go on xboxlive.

you can remove the mod if you do the TSOP, also you can flash the original BIOS back afterwards if you decide to use XBL.

I know, but you need a modchip to flash the onboard tsop. I don't see any reason why someone would flash it if they already have a modchip. (unless thier bios are really horrible don't even support the eject hack or HDD hack.) But most chips that don't support those can be reflashed anyways.

I guess it doesn't matter much if you don't mind flashing it over and over, but I don't think it's worth it only to change things like colors and what it boots to.

The main reason people want to flash modchips is to change what evolutionX (or neXgen) boots to; so xbl will still work if you have the evoX dashboard on, by just flicking a switch. Flashing the onboard tsop would defeat the purpose.
