hi i have tried to backup maxpayne dvd ps2 game but when i play on ps2 it just plays open video sequence then crashes out after the 3drealms logo, i have done a 1-1 copy and iso but no joy both times same problem,i have dvdr a04 and pioneer 116 dvdrom..does it need a patch or is there a way i can back it up.
p.s.never had much problems with others....

hi im quite new to the ps2 copying.....i used to do a lot on the psone alias tugless.


max payne was one of the first games i tried i used nero 5.5.9 with datasafe dvdr on a pionerr A04 ( i think) and it worked fine.

if u want email me i can talk u through more detail of how i did it, but it was pretty straight forward

how are you trying to back it up using ?

use primo dvd following Charlie's tutorial in the sticky post above (http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39048)

I backed up Max Payne without any trouble. I used PrimoDVD and did teh global image method. Works perfect. I also used Verbatim media.

cheers guys,i will try primo dvd which i use for dvd burn and it was nero that i have tried to burn before. even now 1-1 and iso with nero but no joy,its not the backup thats important its why why why?as i back ps2 games no problem apart from this one and lagowinch which is another one that would not work,maybe they need to be read in slow read and low write or something, but never bothered before

ok, I tried bulpaq before no good for me. try traxdata dvd-r. or go for the big boys such as verbatim.

most likely your problem.

exact same problem here but check this out ! v7 with magic 3.1 max payne crashes. v7 with messiah 2 game plays fine :-)

Yeah, definitely a media problem. Had same problem here.

Switch to traxdata or dvdmaster and you'll get perfect back-up.
