Hello All

I recently fitted a messiah in my PS2 and am now looking for advice / guidance.

I have a version 4 PS2 which I believe can be a little problematic as far as the after effects of fitting a messiah.

I have checked all connections made by fitting the messiah and PS1 games boot ok with no problems at all, just need to press reset twice as expected.

The only problem is the PS2 now doesn't like PS2 games be they on CDR or DVD, this does include my original games as well all I get is a black screen (better than the blue one with a PC though)

I think the Version 4 PS2 has a problem with the laser when a messiah is fitted, so I'm thinking I have to recalibrate the laser!?!

Any advice will be gratefully received.

Trawl through my Troubleshooting Guide in the Factoid. This is specifically covered and hopefully one of the causes is listed there.

I'm in a sticky situation with my PS2 at present. I have checked all the connections that I made by fitting the messiah, they all appear to be ok without any shorts between legs etc.

It appears the next step was to tweak the DVD calibration pot.

However the only info I've found on this procedure is one telling me to tweak the until it works (huh) or another procedure whilst it looks nice and easy is only aimed at people with the SCPH-10000. (www.megagames.com)

Mine is a version 4 PS2 so the board layout is completely different so the test point it says to place the oscilloscope is not where it is shown on the drawing.

The big question does anyone know where the DVD calibration test pont is on a V4 PS2?

I've just found a website that shows all test points for this procedure www.ps2.nu

Thanks for the advice.

I think I'll start from stratch to be sure that I haven't killed the poor thing.

Ohh my head hurts...

I promise. I will be back.
