can anyone help me plz

I have a ps2 v5 with a none swap disk chip "think its a magic chip but did ask for a massia". My old ps2 used a swap chip and action replay card and everything was fine but now ive got this new one none of my back up ps1 games will boot and about 10% of my back up ps2 games want either. I get the purple sceen saying insert a ps1 or ps2 game or it just goes to the memery card screen and theres no cd to click on. Ive tryed recopying afew cd's with clone cd and that didnt help so now im stuck, do i need to repatch the games that dont work????? hmmm plz someone advise me.

When trying to play PS1 backups do you double tap the reset button to get them to boot?
Are all the backups that wont boot CD based games?

If all the games worked on your old PS2, THEY SHOULD ALL WORK on your new one....
May be a bad mod chip install.....

I normaly just press reset once ..but ive just tryed pressing it twice and the same thing happens..e.g. insert at ps1 / ps2 formated disk for afew of my ps2 backups and just the memory card screen for my ps1 games. Also yes all my backups are on CD and my ps2 was purchased only a week ago so the laser isnt old

If you have the Messiah (You really need to find out EXACTLY what chip you have) to play PS1 backups you HAVE TO press the reset button twice (double tap very quickly)...
If you have a Magic 2 : For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot.
If all of these backups worked on your other PS2 they WILL WORK on your new PS2......
Try booting a PS1 backup with the double tap method or the Magic 2 method.... If that does not work you most likely have a bad mod chip, or the installation was bad....
Both chips boot the same for PS2 backups: Single tap of reset button.
