Im a newbie at this, ive just bought my lite-on 163d and ive been looking for a easy program to make svcds. ive tried dup-dvd but i cant get it copying and ive tried dvd2svcd but it has a difficult interface, if thats the word? Anyway i would like a tip, and note that im using a 56k modem so i would prefer no 30 meg downloads cause im very excited and i cant stand waiting...

DVDx can rip DVD's to VCD or SVCD - search Google.

Also get TMPGEnc

ive made my first svcd with dvd2svcd and TMPG, it took 28 h :eek:
is that normal?, of course no shitty quality. the movie is about 1 h 38 min. Can it be done faster with the same quality? I followed this guide found on http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvd2svcd.htm

Is it the best way?

Depends on your hardware.

SVCDs take quiete long, between 12-30 hours.

I NO A WAY THAT ONLY TAKES ABOUT SIX HOURS
BUT IT TAKES U ACTUALLY SITTING AT THE PC FOR A BOUT AN HOUR
BUT ITS WORTH IT
