Need Help!!!

I've got a problem. I'm not able to backup vagrant story. I tried to use cdr-win with the crack provided by BAD but when I burn it the cd don't start and the psx freeze on a white image with stripes. I've got a HP 9100 and the PAL version of the game. Maybe the cdrwin settings is not correct.
I tried to run it with a psx emulator (ePsxe) and when I run the iso image the game works fine but when I run the mounted image is still not working!!!
I tried to use also cloneCd, nero and blindwrite: all for nothing!
WHY?
PLEASE HELP I'M GOING MAD!!!!!!!

ok first of all when u r copying the psx game you need to apply the patch for it http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches_v.shtml

secondly you should never use a crack to unlock cdrwin its best to use a key gen or code to unlock the program.
if i was u uninstall the cdrwin then reinstall it and go and get a key gen or code from http://astalavista.box.sk and search for cdrwin good luck

http://elby.ch/english/products/clone_cd/writers/h.html#hewlettpackard shows that your machine supports RAW-DAO 96 which means that it is 100% compatible with CloneCD.

Visit www.psxcopyworld.co.uk and grab a copy of CloneCD. You can then make a 1:1 copy of the game.

thanks to everyone for the reply, but i'm still having trouble... both with colnecd or with cdrwin patched doesn't work.
the emulator says that i'm using a NTSC disk(?) and the read mode is unknown. i've got the PAL italian version, but it's in english and i don't know if there are differences within the uk and ita version. the ppf-o-matic doesn't say there is difference.
the patch works on bin image but on burned cd it doesn't.
are there any other program to copy protected games fro psx? the protection is psx/libscrypt.

OK, put CDRWin aside for one minute, and start again using CloneCD and the CLoneCD tutorial at www.psxcopyworld.co.uk. If you use the correct settings as stated in the tutorial you will have no problems.

That is presuming you do own the original copy of vagrant story.

hey, maybe you should actually get a playstation instead of emulating it on your pc!! anyway, it could be your graphics card, maybe it cant handle the game.

Ok i use the clone cd with those settings, but now the game freezes on "now loading" message after pressing new game...
That's because i've got the protected pal version of the game (i saw that the NTSC one is not protected!!!).
Even more the sound of the previous scenes continues even when i stop it pressing start. Anyother suggestion?

Why does everyone patch their backups i never use a patch r all the pwople using old mods or just thinking that all chips need patches?

I mean only 4-wire chips do,not 5-6-7 or 8 wire chips!!!

Emulators dont need games to be patched either!!!

I've got an old mod chip (at least 2 years) and i'm not able to play this game at all.
what do you suggest me?

if ur chip is 4 wire it needs patch if not and you get the detection screen ?i dunno

the pal version is not mod protected. it makes no difference what chip you use because the protection will always stop u unless it has sucessfully been patched. and what the hells the deal man, are you trying to play this game on an emulator or the psx???!!!

i try to play it on my psx but when i insert the cd patched and burned with cdriwn it doesn't start at all and with the one burned with clone cd it stops on "now loading" message after i select a new game...

i never need to patch i have a stealth elite even with my old stealth 3 i never had to patch i played protected games on it like dino crisis

what is your way of copying?
NTSC or PAL games?
Sometimes NTSC don't have protection...

Been reading through all the posts about your problem and i noticed that no one has actually asked you about the system you are using,specifically the system .
Do you use you cdr/rw to read and write the disc ? , if not what reader are you using because the problem could be that you reader is not able to read sub-channel data or audio,and if this is so you will not get a 1:1 copy with clone and the image with cdrwin will be no good as well.
I had the same sort of problems with my acer cdr/rw it wrote disc a1 but the reader was sub standard,so changed reader and everything was aok.
If you have a dvd as your reader (as seems to be the norm nowdays) toshiba or lite-on are able to read sub-channel (most others will not)

another thing that could be the prob is the type of media that youre using and the speed you are burning at. verbatim or TDK cdrs written at slow speeds will give the best results. you burner is clonecd compatible so use that with these settings:

read subchannel data
read subchannel audio
abort on read error

when writing:
raw dao
dont correct subchannel data

if you get stuck along the way just ask for some help

someone asked me what games i burn i burn ntsc and i have protected games one is dino crisis.

Anyone know why some N64 gamesharks break like a month after you get em i know lots a people this happened to i got one for free it`s broke but im sending it to interact the gamesharks are ver.2.2 to gameshark PRO 3.3 that broke.
