CD Drive Does Not Reconise Disk

I have been trying to backup a audio cd but when i place it in the drive it is not reconised as being there, as far as the machine is concerned the drive is empty. i know the drive is all right because it works with all my other cd's.I have tried nero,cdrwin,blindread,disk juggler but have drawn a blank! windows cd player does not even reconise it.
The cd is "Eminem The slim shady lp"
My writer is a samsung combo SM-304B
